Sarah Lipton-Lubet
PresidentOn January 1, 2023, Sarah Lipton-Lubet was appointed President of Take Back the Court after leading the organization for nearly two years as Executive Director.
Before coming to Take Back the Court, Sarah advocated for reproductive freedom, gender equity, and progressive change for the better part of two decades. She brings extensive experience in the fight against the right-wing takeover of the courts from her prior roles at the National Partnership for Women & Families, American Civil Liberties Union, Center for Reproductive Rights, and other leading advocacy organizations. Through these and other roles, Sarah has worked to defend and expand abortion and contraceptive access, advance the rights of pregnant workers, push back against religious refusals, and promote government accountability.
Sarah's work at Take Back the Court has been featured in the Washington Post, CNN, Reuters, the Atlantic, the New Republic, and Mother Jones, among other outlets. Her writing has appeared in publications including Slate, the Hill, and Democracy Docket.
Sarah graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University with a BA in American studies and earned her JD from Yale Law School. She clerked for the Honorable Nancy Gertner of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the Honorable Richard Paez of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
