TO ALLOW A “PAYWALL” FOR US IMMIGRANTS

Supreme Court Enshrines Bigotry into Immigration Policy

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 27, 2019) —

Take Back the Court Executive Director Aaron Belkin released the following statement on today’s Supreme Court decision: 

“Today’s 5-4 Supreme Court decision to uphold a wealth test for Green Card applicants is another troubling ramification of Senator Mitch McConnell's theft of the Court. As was the case when the Court’s conservative majority ignored the President's bigoted words to uphold the Muslim travel ban, the Supreme Court is again enshrining bigotry into our immigration policy to advance a partisan agenda. Democracy requires a Court that upholds laws and ideals rather than looking the other way while the administration guts them. The only solution is to unpack the Court.”
