GORSUCH DEAL PROVES SECRECY AND CORRUPTION ARE CONTAGIOUS AT THE SUPREME COURT

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 25, 2023) — A new Politico report this morning revealed that Justice Neil Gorsuch failed to disclose the buyer of a $1.8 million property Gorsuch owned. The buyer, who purchased Gorsuch’s property just days after his confirmation to the Supreme Court, runs a major law firm with business before the Court. Take Back the Court Action Fund released the following statement on behalf of its president, Sarah Lipton-Lubet, in response to the news:

“Well, it looks like the disease of corruption and secrecy at the court is contagious. At this point, it’s willfully ignorant to believe that self-interested partisans like Thomas and Gorsuch will ever hold themselves accountable. So it’s up to our elected leaders to do it. Congress needs to investigate the rot at the center of this Court before the institution is poisoned beyond the point of return.”
