JUDICIARY COMMITTEE RIGHTFULLY AUTHORIZES LEO AND CROW SUBPOENAS

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (November 30, 2023) – Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to approve subpoenas for Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo, right-wing billionaires whose close financial ties to Justice Clarence Thomas have raised serious concerns about corruption and misconduct at the Supreme Court. Take Back the Court Action Fund released the following statement on behalf of its president, Sarah Lipton-Lubet, in response to the news:

“The court’s right-wing justices have made it glaringly obvious that they cannot police themselves. The Judiciary Committee is right to step in and do its duty to hold the court accountable. Like so many others, we look forward to hearing what Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo have to say for themselves when they’re under oath.”
