LEONARD LEO EXPECTS A 'GET OUT OF SUBPOENA FREE' CARD

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (November 30, 2023) – Today, barely an hour after the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to approve subpoenas for Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo, Leo announced that he will not comply with the committee’s request to appear. Take Back the Court Action Fund released the following statement on behalf of its president, Sarah Lipton-Lubet, in response to the news:

“Leonard Leo—the guy Republicans let pick their Supreme Court justices—doesn’t seem to understand how subpoenas work. Which, actually, helps explain how we got here in the first place. Leo seems to think he can buy himself a ‘get out of subpoena free’ card, which is exactly why the Senate needs to prove him wrong.”
