SUPREME COURT JUSTICES BELIEVE THEY ARE UNTOUCHABLE, UNACCOUNTABLE

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 25, 2023) — Today, Chief Justice John Roberts declined an invitation to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee at a hearing on Supreme Court ethics. Take Back the Court Action Fund released the following statement on behalf of its president, Sarah Lipton-Lubet, in response to the news:

“We’ve seen over and over: politely asking the Republican justices to behave like public servants is not going to work. They just don’t care. They believe they are an untouchable, unaccountable super-legislature — and unless Congress uses its constitutional power to show them otherwise, nothing will change.”
