SUPREME COURT KEEPS HATEFUL TRUMP-ERA IMMIGRATION POLICY IN PLACE

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (December 27, 2022) — Today, the Supreme Court ruled that a xenophobic Trump-era policy allowing the U.S. government to expel asylum seekers from the country without due process must remain in place for now.

Take Back the Court released the following statement on behalf of its executive director, Sarah Lipton-Lubet, in response:

“Every day the Title 42 policy remains in place means more pain and anguish for families seeking safe haven in the U.S. There is no low to which these cruel justices will not stoop. If we want a judiciary that truly respects people’s human rights and dignity, we have to expand the Supreme Court.”
