TAKE BACK THE COURT ACTION FUND LAUNCHES NEW SCOTUS ACCOUNTABILITY SUBSTACK

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 7, 2022) — Today, Take Back the Court Action Fund launched its new Substack as a resource for press, thought leaders, an other interested Court-watchers to learn more about the Supreme Court news of the day, the legitimacy crisis at the Court, and what elected leaders and advocates alike can do to hold the corrupt right-wing justices accountable and restore integrity to the judiciary. The newsletter builds on the Supreme Court Accountability Project announced earlier this year.

The debut post, entitled, “The constitutional showdown we need,” details the latest in the saga of Justice Clarence Thomas’ ongoing ethics disaster and outlines three steps congressional leaders should take in response to the latest allegations: 1. Pass new ethics legislation for the justices; 2. Move ahead with a Jan. 6-style investigation and hearings; and 3. Subpoena Justice Thomas.

“A showdown between the Senate and a Supreme Court justice over whether our most powerful judges have to follow the law would drive tremendous coverage and draw vital attention to Thomas’ behavior and the Court’s degradation,” the TBTC advisors write in the post.
