WATCH: STEYER ON COURT EXPANSION—"I'M FOR IT"

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 29, 2019) —

At an event in Des Moines last night, Democratic Presidential contender Tom Steyer took the strongest stand in favor of court expansion of any candidate to date, stating, "I'm for it." Steyer says Republicans have been "working to prevent hundreds of thousands or millions of African Americans from exercising the basic right of citizenship, which is to vote," and he cites McConnell's 2016-17 Court packing scheme as reason to take back the court. Steyer's endorsement of expansion comes after Andrew Yang debunked several common myths about Court expansion in an interview with the New York Times.
